EIL Championship Race

Amy Trueworthy
The weather held out on Friday and it turned out to be a perfect day for a run in the Park. Our girls ran hard Friday afternoon against a much larger pool of competition. Overall the average pace of the race seemed faster than previous years and I believe this helped our girls push themselve harder. Our top five runners were Claire Breger-Belsky, Mel Mait, Liz Niznik, Olivia Richter, and Ashley Szczapa.
It has been a challenging season in light of injuries and an overwhelming amount of school work, but cross country has been a place to take a mental break and take care of our physical and mental well-being. I look forward to spending this final week of practice with the girls and regret that I will not be attending the New Englands with them this coming Saturday.
