  • Coaching: Assistant Crew Coach

    Berwick Academy seeks a qualified assistant coach(es) for its Upper School spring Crew program. We are looking for passionate, energetic, and dedicated individuals to coach the team’s 30+/- dedicated and driven male & female athletes, from novice to experienced high school rowers.
    Job requirements include:
    · Bachelor's Degree
    · Compliance with all procedures and policies of crew facilities and US Rowing
    · Prior rowing experience
    · Prior coaching experience, specifically in club or school level
    · Ability to organize and administer training plan and to direct practices
    · Required attendance at practice and races
    · Exceptional communication and motivational skills
    · Ability to establish positive relationships with our student-athletes, parents and school administration

    This position reports to the Director of Athletics. This position directs an assistant coach and JV coach leading the team and its performance.

  • Faculty: Dance Instructor

    Berwick Academy seeks an experienced dance instructor to teach part-time in our auxiliary dance program for the 2025-2026 year. This position includes teaching K-12 modern, contemporary and technique classes in the after school program and also some Lower School technique dance classes during the school day.Candidates should have experience with some combination of modern, ballet, contemporary, acro and/or hip-hop. The position requires an organized, flexible and creative approach to working with students and parents.

    Responsibilities include:
    –Teaching technique and choreography in specific styles to all levels, beginner through advanced.
    –Mentoring students for auditions, choreography projects, and spring concert
    –Choreographing, planning and directing the yearly dance concert and other events upon request of Director of Visual and Performing Arts
    ~Building strong relationships with students, families and colleagues
    –This position reports to the Director of Visual and Performing Arts and the Director of Auxiliary Programs.

  • Staff: Day Camp Nurse

    Berwick Academy is excited to welcome a licensed Day Camp Nurse (or a team of two part-time nurses) to support our vibrant and joyful summer community. This position is essential in ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of our day campers, who range in age from 4 to 18, across our beautiful 80+ acre campus.

    We are hiring for either one full-time nurse (35 hours/week) or two part-time nurses to share coverage across the 8-week season. Whether you're looking to work the full summer or interested in a flexible part-time schedule, we invite you to apply.

    About the Role
    This is a day camp nurse position—there are no overnight responsibilities. You will provide on-site health care, medication administration, first aid, and health record oversight for campers and staff during the regular camp day. You'll serve as a key health advocate, supporting camper well-being in both proactive and responsive ways.

    Camp Dates: June 16 – August 15, 2025
    Camp Hours: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM (arrival at 8:30 AM on Mondays)
    Note: Camp is in session on June 19 and July 4.

    Primary Responsibilities
    • Deliver first aid and oversee safe medication administration
    • Maintain confidential camper health records and daily logs
    • Monitor camper health concerns and coordinate with families as needed
    • Assist in health screenings and assess medical histories upon arrival
    • Maintain a clean, organized, and regulation-compliant health center
    • Travel across campus via golf cart to provide timely support
    • Collaborate with the camp leadership team to review health policies and practices
    • Participate in staff orientation and mid-season check-ins
    What We’re Looking For
    • Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), licensed in Maine
    • Experience in pediatrics, school nursing, or youth settings preferred
    • Current CPR for the Professional Rescuer certification
    • Excellent communication skills with children and adults
    • Organized, flexible, calm under pressure, and comfortable working independently
    • Willingness to drive a golf cart across campus as needed
    Compensation & Benefits
    • This is an hourly paid position; the rate will be based on experience and qualifications.
    • Compensation may be adjusted depending on benefit access such as on-campus childcare and housing options.
    • Weekly hours are approximately 35 for full-time or can be divided for part-time coverage.

  • Teaching Apprentices

    Berwick Academy's Teaching Apprentice Program (TAP) offers a purposeful blend of hands-on teaching experiences and graduate courses, resulting in a M.Ed. from Lesley University. Each TA works full time under the guidance of experienced Berwick mentors for an entire academic year while taking Lesley courses. Our apprentices develop the knowledge and skills essential for successful teaching while earning legitimate work experience at one of New England’s finest independent schools. The program will begin in June, and is open to aspiring educators.

    • Lower School (Prek - Grade 4) - Self contained classrooms
    • Middle School (Grades 5 - 8)  - Sections in Humanities, Math, English, History, Science, Art, Spanish
