Bulldogs take Worcester to Overtime

Berwick welcomed Worcester Academy for their home opener Wednesday night. Worcester struck first, but Berwick responded with a goal from Julia Cabral (2023) with assists from Ella Souza (2025) and Reese Fendelet (2023) notching the score at 1-1. Berwick was the next to score on a feed to Louise Roper (2024) at the top of the circle from Ashlyn Libby (2023). Worcester responded quickly again tying the score. Cabral would put Berwick ahead 3-2 going into the 3rd with a break-away goal. Worcester would again tie the game at the end of the 3rd sending the game into overtime.  Play was evenly matched throughout the overtime until Berwick was assessed a penalty and Worcester was able to capitalize on the advantage. While not the outcome the Bulldogs had hoped for, the team competed hard and should be proud of the grit and determination. A huge shout-out goes to Berwick goaltender, Bella Pomarico (2023) who saw 53 shots on the night. Bella was stellar in net stopping pucks in traffic, controlling rebounds, and making saves in all scenarios.
