After a well deserved week off from games, the BA boys traveled to Tilton for a rare game under the lights. In many ways, the visitors picked up right where they left off with good energy and some strong passing. Justin McLaughlin kept things under control in the midfield alongside the determined efforts of Jack May and Liam C. An early injury, however, to Liam Q. forced an early substitution, but Nii Lokko delivered his customary pace on the wing, which was matched by Lucas Milne on the opposite side of the field. Along with an organized defense and vocal goalkeeping, BA set themselves up nicely for a productive first half. So it was that with just ten minutes gone Justin found Amir Makdad at the back post for a nicely converted corner kick. Twenty minutes later, it was another corner kick that center back Alexander Ek got on the end of to double the lead. Moving into the second half, Tilton turned up their press, which made things difficult for our back line, and things became interesting when their pressure turned into a goal. They nearly evened the game, but it was Jak Loughlin who made a reactive save to preserve the lead. The Bulldogs stepped up to the challenge and began to settle down, which soon resulted in Amir's second goal, ushering on a more comfortable finish to the game. An overall enjoyable game, albeit one with a few nervy moments, but a satisfying match leading us into a nicely timed three day autumn weekend.
