BA Holds of Warriors

The Bulldogs hosted EIL Tournament Champion Wheeler on a beautiful Saturday afternoon. "Wheeler Day" saw our field hockey team, volleyball team, and both soccer teams enjoying competition with our Rhode Island foes, making for a rather busy campus. Our one o'clock tilt was an evenly played affair with Wheeler having much possession in certain areas but Berwick owning the more dangerous scoring opportunities. And so it was Amir Makdad '27 collecting a pass from Jonathan Hooper '28 before lofting it over the keeper just a couple of minutes before half time. Immediately coming out of the break Owen Spinney smashed one off of the crossbar that somehow managed to not cross the line. With our midfield matching theirs, and our defenders locking things down, Spinney got another chance later in the half that blistered its way into the top corner right next to our lively student section. The 2-0 victory caps off a great, though busy first week of play, leaving Berwick 3-0. Next up is the Landmark School from Beverly, who will be visiting on Wednesday.
