On Friday, October 2, the Bulldogs travelled to Beaver Country Day School, played their hearts out under cloudy skies, and came away with a 3-2 win. The Bulldogs kept the energy high throughout the game, never letting up. The Bulldogs are now 6-0-0 on the season.

Eight minutes in, Griffin Demers ’28 (Rochester, NH) scored the first goal off a free kick 40 yards out, sending the ball up and over the Beaver goalie’s head and into the net.

Then, in the 16th minute, Demers hit a long ball to Sophia DeSimone ’28 (Dover, NH)  who shot and scored.

With 26 minutes on the clock, Freshman Goalkeeper Charlotte Loughlin (Wells, ME) made a gorgeous double save. The Beaver team earned a penalty kick, which Loughlin deflected by diving to the right and then she stood up and dove left for a second save of Beaver’s rebound shot.

Beaver got their first goal in the 44th minute, right at the start of the second half, and their second goal with 20 minutes on the clock.

The Bulldogs’ third goal came in the second half of the match. In the 57th min, after a corner from Demers, Carly Shumway ’29 (Wells, ME) dribbled it down the end line, and crossed it to Senior Tatum Sloper (Scarborough, ME) who hit the ball in the net.

The Bulldogs hope to keep their winning streak going at Dana Hall this week. Go Bulldogs!
