Bulldogs move to 9-0-0 on the season

The Bulldogs traveled to Beaver Country Day and came away with a 1-0 win to improve to 9-0-0 on the year while Beaver falls to 2-4-0.
 
In the 8th minute Grace Libby (Standish, ME) broke through the Beaver defense and played the ball back to Allie Moore (North Berwick, ME) whose one touch shot was blocked by a Beaver defender.  
 
In the 32nd minute Juliette Lohnes (Berwick, ME) played a great cross into the box that Grace Libby headed to Allie Moore whose volley went just over the bar.  In the 36th minute Moore hit a great cross but no one could get on the end of it.  Cam Hamilton (South Berwick, ME) had two big saves to keep the game scoreless and Leila Beakes (Rollinsford, NH) came up big to clear the ball after Beaver rattled a shot off the crossbar.
 
The Bulldogs came out determined in the second half and had a 7-4 edge on shots and a 9-1 advantage on corner kicks for the game.  In the 50th minute the Bulldogs broke the deadlock when Chili Dowd (Amesbury, MA) played a great through ball to Grace who played a great early cross to Sevilla Coffin (Newburyport, MA) who puts away the rebound off the Beaver keeper to give the Bulldogs the 1-0 lead.  In the 55th minute Libby hit an amazing shot from outside the 18 but the Beaver keeper came away with the save.  Parker Roenick (Exeter, NH) had a solid chance in the 82nd minute when she blew by the Beaver Defense but the shot went just wide.
 
The Bulldogs had a solid defensive effort to earn their 9th shutout of the season. Eliza Small (Portsmouth, NH) Jessica Wojdak (West Newbury, MA) Juliette Lohnes (Berwick, ME), Bella Mazza (Madbury, NH) and Leila Beakes (Rollinsford, NH) all played critical minutes in the backfield.  Ginger Friedman (North Hampton, NH) was a force on the right flank in her first game back and Bella Mazza and Tessa Keenan (Exeter, NH) were solid in the center of midfield for the Bulldogs.
 
The Bulldogs will travel to Dana Hall on Thursday 10/6 for another EIL matchup vs the Dragons in hopes of earning their 10th win of the season.
