The Bulldogs defeat Hebron Academy

Travis Derr
The Bulldogs hosted Hebron Academy and came away with a strong 6-0 win earning the team their 8th win of the season.

The Bulldogs came out strong and opened the scoring in the second minute when Tessa Keenan (Exeter, NH) played the ball to Kaya Garside (Portsmouth, NH) ripped a shot through the Hebron keeper's hands and over the line for a 1-0 lead.  A mere 6 minutes later Kaya scored again after Emma Rich (Dover, NH) played a great through ball and Kaya broke through the defensive line for 1v1 with the goalie and put it in the back of the net to increase the lead.  In the 18th minute after good defending in our defensive half, Tessa Keenan possessed the ball and played a lovely ball to the corner flag to Ginger Friedman (North Hampton, NH) who broke into the 18 and had a beautiful cross that just barely missed the back left corner and went out for a goal kick. In the 26th minute, Griffin Demers beautifully crossed the ball to Graziella Pavona (York, ME) in the box who laid it off to Ginger Friedman who with authority one touched the ball to the top corner to make it 3-0 Bulldogs.  In the 33rd minute, Blake Metcalf (Scarborough, ME) played a corner to Ginger Friedman who selflessly passed to Juliet Lohnes (Berwick, ME) at the top of the box who rocketed a shot under the crossbar and in for the 4-0 lead.  Emma Rich was awarded a penalty kick after being tackled in the box by a Hebron defender, and Allie Moore (North Berwick, ME) converted the spot kick to make it 5-0.  Just two minutes before halftime, Blake blocked a clearance from Hebron and lofted it over the goalie into the back of the net to increase the Bulldogs lead going into halftime.

The Bulldogs controlled the tempo of the game and combined on some great passes in the second half but did not add to the scoring resulting in a final score of 6-0.  Alexa Garcia (Dover, NH) and Allie Moore combined for 3 saves earning the Bulldogs their 6th shutout of the season.  The Bulldogs improve to 8-0-2 and will host Holderness on Wednesday 10/11.
