GVS earns 12 shutout and ties New Hampton

Sarah Anderson
The Berwick Bulldogs came away with a 0-0 tie against New Hampton School on Wednesday at home. Goalies Allie Moore '24 (North Berwick, ME) and Alexa Garcia '26 (Dover, NH) earned their 12th shutout of the season.

Although the Bulldogs could not capitalize on their opportunities to score,  they created several strong passing sequences, worked hard and steadily defensively, communicated as a team, and pushed themselves until the end on an extra chilly November day.

With three minutes left on the clock, Senior Ginger Friedman (North Hampton, NH) made a beautiful strong shot toward the goal but she needed someone to finish it and knock it in. The Husky goalie grabbed it instead.

Early in the game, in the 6th minute, New Hampton had their best chance to score when a player shot the ball and it hit the frame.

Consistently, Goalies Moore and Garcia got a good workout in this game. With 20 minutes on the clock in the first half, Moore made a great save with a front smother after some activity in the box. Five minutes later, she leapt up high and punched the ball up and away from the net to make another great save. Moore and Garcia made some impressive diving saves as well.

The Bulldogs are 11-3-3 on the season. With two regular season games on the calendar, the Bulldogs hope to qualify for EIL and NEPSACs. They will play Brewster Academy away on Friday. Go Bulldogs!
