Berwick Wins Season Opener

The BA Girls JV Ice Hockey team won their season opener against Biddeford High School on their home ice at Dover Ice Arena. Berwick opened the scoring midway into the first period with a goal by sophomore Vanessa Leavitt, assisted by senior Ellen Lynch and freshman Sam Montagno.  Senior Alicia Leavitt kept us in the game with many fantastic saves.

Biddeford evened the score 4 minutes into the second period, but Berwick quickly surged ahead again with goals by Ellen Lynch and sophomore Kenza Farid, with assists from sophomore Tess Varley and senior Margot Smith. 

Biddeford added another goal with seven minutes left in the game, but Berwick managed to keep their slim lead, despite serving a few penalties for checking and tripping.
