Berwick Loses to Pingree in South Hamilton, MA

Berwick traveled to Pingree School to take on their arch rivals on Dec 16th.  Junior Sydney Hopkins jumped in net for the first time ever, and turned away many shots.  The few goals that managed to get past her were 2nd or 3rd rebounds that Berwick just couldn't pull away from the cluster of players gathered in the front of the net.

Berwick's first goal game in the first period....a blistering shot from our defensive zone by senior, Kat Reid, that their goalie couldn't handle.    The second period saw Berwick senior Maddie Balas net a wrist shot after receiving a pass from Allie St. Pierre.  Berwick's final goal came from a double-team of Ellen Lynch and Vanessa Leavitt.  Ellen weaved through Pingree's players and wristered it on net, which popped up and over the goalie.  Unsure of whether the puck crossed the line, Vanessa followed up and hit it to the back of the net.  Berwick had a flurry of shots on Pingree in the final few minutes of the game, but time ran out before we could even the score.
