Bulldogs fight hard but lose to Brewster Academy

The Bulldogs experienced a 4-0 loss against a talented Brewster Academy team on Friday, Nov. 4 in the sunshine at Berwick, bringing their record to 13-3-2 on the season. Brewster had a 12-6 shot advantage over Berwick, and Berwick had a 4-2 advantage on corner kicks.
 
Both teams came out strong with Brewster getting their first shot off in the fourth minute of the game, and Berwick getting their first shot in the fifth minute.
 
The first half of the game was filled with determined and beautiful plays by the Berwick team, including in the 35th minute when Goalie Allie Moore (North Berwick, ME) punched the ball out of the net with one fist – one of her many great saves of the game. A minute later, defender Eliza Small (Portsmouth, NH) jumped high in the air and turned her body to block a strong shot from a Brewster offensive player.
 
In the last minute of the first half, Brewster scored off a shot from outside the 18 into the top corner of the net. Brewster had a strong second half, scoring three more goals in the 51st minute, 54th minute, and 69th minute.
 
While the score may not show it, every single Bulldog fought hard until the very end of the game.
 
The Bulldogs will play their final game of the regular season against Concord Academy at Concord on Wed, 11/9, and they will host an EIL Semifinal game on their home turf on Fri, 11/11.
