Berwick Succeeds in the Semis

On a blustery Friday afternoon, Berwick returned to the scene of a 1-3 disappointing just 48 hours before. While history may have a tendency to repeat itself, this second visit proved to be a refreshing exception, as BA battled all afternoon to a 0-0 tie for the first 80 minutes. While neither team were not without their quality chances, it was certainly the experienced goalkeeping of Owen Kenney that kept the visitor's hopes alive. Two ten minute overtime periods were not enough to settle the score, so the game moved onto a series of daunting penalty kicks. Two saves by Owen, allowed the Bulldog shooters to feel, well, less daunted, and with the game on the line, Toby Zhang coolly stepped to the spot, found his nerve, and fired a shot past the helpless Concord keeper, bagging his first goal of the year, triggering an eruption from his chilly teammates and supporters, and advancing his team into the finals at Pingree!
