Bulldogs play hard against Greens Farms Academy, losing during PKs

Sarah Anderson
The Bulldogs  qualified for the NEPSAC Class C Tournament and played as the 5th seed in the quarterfinal game against Greens Farms Academy at Deerfield Academy on Wednesday. They fought hard until the end, with a 0-0 score and 5-4 PKs, losing to Greens Farms.
With 14 minutes left in the first half, Jessica Wojdak ‘24 (West Newbury, MA) made a diving save/tackle at a critical moment, preventing Greens Farms from scoring. Seven minutes later, the Bulldogs had a chance at a goal when Senior Ginger Friedman (North Hampton, NH) carried the ball up the field, and passed to Blake Metcalf ‘27 (Scarborough, ME) who took a shot wide, just missing the frame.
In the 70th minute, Greens Farms had a chance to score but didn’t when their shot hit the crossbar and Goalkeeper Alexa Garcia ‘26 (Dover, NH) saved the shot with a front smother.
All of the Bulldog players gave it their all on the turf but could not secure a goal. Then, under the pressure of penalty kicks, they lost by one.
The Bulldogs finished with a record of 12-5-4 on the season and should be proud of their consistent hard work and their dedication.
