First game of the season!

The softball team had a fantastic start to their first game of the season.  The girls took on Rye Junior high and played a close game.  We have had several students who have never played before and the team did a great job for being out on the field for the first time.  Nora and Simone were both able to get on base and get a steal.  They did a good job backing up the base once the ball was hit.  Addie and Campbell did an awesome job pitching!   Campbell even got an inside of the park home run.  Evie was a brick wall behind the plate and not afraid to throw down to third.  Evie also hit very well and was robbed of an inside of the park home run.  Névé made a beautiful backhand stop at second base and hustled to every base.  Georgia was strong in the outfield and made contact with the ball when she was batting.  Soraya made nice contact and was able to hit the ball and run to the base.  Ava hustled in the right field and almost had a shoelace catch.  Julie and Ellie were versatile players that made very nice stops and helped to get the other team out several times.  I am very proud of the girls and how they played.  Our next game is on Wednesday, April 26 at Nobel Middle School.
